Level 75 raid skirms & Helegrod - Sunday 16 and Tuesday 18 October
Level 75 raid skirmishes/Helegrod
8:30pm Sunday 16 October/Tuesday 18(time conversion)
Please note that the time may be different than what you are expecting due to daylight savings time. Please double check the time of the raid

Also note that what minimal feedback I've received is that Sunday/Tuesday will probably work better as regular raid nights. Please let me know what you think of this as proposed raid times going forward.
Raid Info and Strategy
As a warm up for level 75 raiding, we will be doing some level 75 raid skirmishes and probably a helegrod wing or two, hopefully to get the Thorog fight unlocked for those that don't already have it (it's a great and easy source of skirm marks, as well as having unique loot drops along with the other helegrod raids).
Please state what your soldier is when you sign up. Also, please make sure it's levelled up an appropriate amount. The skirmishes aren't hard, but we'll probably look to do them on T3 for a bit of extra marks and challenge.
You can find information on the new raid loot system here. We will aim to do skirmishes from a number of different skirmish campaigns. If you are a VIP or free player, I highly recommend you buy defence of the prancing pony (and preferably thievery and mischief too, it's more fun!) to open up the Adlan campaign. I'd also recommend attack at dawn for the Odothuilan Campaign but apparently there's a known bug stopping it dropping S4Ms, so really we should try to do Icy Crevasse. And, of course, make sure all of your mirkwood/Vol 3 epic skirmishes are unlocked.
This is an open sign-up raid - essentially it will be first in, first served but some consideration will be made for class balance considerations if we're looking too unbalanced.

Re: Level 75 raid skirms & Helegrod - Sunday 16 and Tuesday 18 October
I'll be there and have a herbalist solider which is nicely leveled up on all skills.
As for doing them at T3, I think we should be clear on what outcomes we really want from this at an early stage. I know from trying solo skirms at T3 when I was lvl65 that they are far from easy. T2 isn't too bad, but T3 really scaled up and I assume that's the same for a raid level one.
Hence at T3, it will be much harder, take longer and likely result in more deaths (we still think that some of the damage checks are not working right on old content, in once instance I took almost 4K shadow damage, from two hits, one right after another and that's with a 33% mit against tac damage. At T3, something like that will most likely one shot a light armour class). Any skirm with a NPC would also have a greater chance to die, hence wasting the whole time to run the skirm. As far as I know, the loot drops, the S4M drops and I think even the worn symbol drop rate is the same at T1-T3.
Now, I'm all up for the challenge of T3, but at an early stage, wouldn't it be better to run at T1, get more done in a single night (especially as people learn exactly what a raid skirm is like), get more loot drops, S4Ms and more chances of symbol drops as we rip through them. I just think that at T3 we may get 2, outside chance of 3 done in a night (which would be worse if a NPC dies and we fail one). At T1, we should rip through 4 in a night with no fails.

sure, we can talk about it on the night. but i've done T3 raid skirmishes at level 65 with some valacirca folks and they were no more difficult than T1, just a bit longer and a bit more burst damage, and you get 30% more marks.

Skirm marks are good, but I currently have over 53K of them, so right now what I need more is the gear, symbol and S4M's

I currently have a bannerguard as major supportive role (off healing and defensive aura). A soldier is traiting for more survivability and dps.

Well, one thing I did when I hit lvl75, was buy a skirm mark refund scroll. I got a bit over 20K back and then spent only around half that to relevel my solider back up to were she was and then a bit more.

Re: Level 75 raid skirms & Helegrod - Sunday 16 and Tuesday 18 October
hey guys, there's been a suggestion that seeing as these are well puggable and people are just running them all the time anyway, we might actually just start on draigoch this week. Anyway, we'll see if we can pull enough people together on the night to have a stab at it and i'll try to get some info about the fight posted in the next day or so, just thought I'd give a heads up.

Re: Level 75 raid skirms & Helegrod - Sunday 16 and Tuesday 18 October
guys, fyi there's a very good chance that i'll be late tonight. Please form the raid without me and feel free to start if you're full and ready to go. I'm sorry, but it's just been a crazy weekend for me.
the plan was to see what people were keen on doing once we got enough together. If we had a reasonably balanced group (ie at least 1, pref 2 captains, burg etc.) then was planning on firing up draigoch and taking a look. I know very little about the fight, other than the info on the first phase in this vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve3-MFwoCSs
If we didn't have a balanced enough group or if people didn't feel their chars were ready yet then I was going to suggest helegrod - it's got a unique raid loot table, the spider wing challenge awards S4Ms and I think thorog does too if we can get it unlocked for everyone (the other two are bugged).
Anyway, i hope to see you tonight but plz do what you can to start without me if i'm not there by 8:30.

Re: Level 75 raid skirms & Helegrod - Sunday 16 and Tuesday 18 October
Well, with the daylight savings thing last night (I did warn in the initial post!), last night was a bit messed up unfortunately. By the time people were coming on, I had half a raid full of people who wouldn't have been on TS and I was getting very mixed responses as to what people wanted to do, and it was getting late, so I thought it best to at least get something done rather than have a half hearted stab at the dragon raid. I'll be there Tuesday and if we have enough of the regular group to get some good learning in on Draigoch then I'd be up for it, otherwise we can do whatever.
On the subject of daylight savings, please reply to this post to tell me if the new start time is going to cause problems. not sure what we'll do if it does, but at least I need to find out.
